Retail speaks to retail is a yearly event organised since 2013 promoting best practice amongst retailers and fostering new ideas in retail. This event has welcomed executives from many different sectors in the past, and has provided again, in 2018, a forum with recognized international leaders in retail.

Bertrand Loumaye Chief Merchandising Officer - Walmart Canada

Bertrand is chief merchandising officer for Walmart Canada. He is responsible for driving the company's general merchandise, food, health and wellness and apparel businesses.

Bertrand first joined Walmart International on assignment to Walmart Canada in July 2015 in the capacity of SVP Supercentre Reinvention and Prototype. Since joining, Bertrand has been instrumental in building a new approach to format & asset management and capital efficiency (Design & Construction) that will build cost transparency and enable value creation for Walmart Canada.

Prior to joining Walmart, Bertrand was employed with Delhaize, a European grocery retailer, where he last supported the Serbian business as Head of Operations and VP, Business Process Management. He started his career with the company in store management, and progressed into leadership roles in Strategy and Planning, Procurement, and Store Design functions.

Bertrand is multi-lingual and holds a Masters in Law, completed Executive Education as well as a Post Graduate degree in business performance management. For 11 years, Bertrand served as a board member for Taquin SA, a display and metalwork company in the retail and construction industry. 

Pierre-Olivier Beckers, Chairman Amoobi

Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Delhaize Group from January 1, 1999 till November 7, 2013. In January 2000, he was named Manager of the Year by the leading Belgian business magazine Trends/Tendances. In 2009, he was named Belgium's BEL20 CEO of the year by the Belgian newspapers Le Soir and De Standaard. Until June 2010, he was co-Chairman of the Consumer Goods Forum, a global association of leading consumer goods retailers and manufacturers. Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant served on the Board of Directors of the Consumer Goods Forum. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Food Marketing Institute and is Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee of FEB/VBO, the Belgian Employers Federation. He is a member of Guberna and, until 2010, the Belgian Commission on Corporate Governance. He is President of the BOIC (Belgian Olympic Interfederal Committee) since December 2004 and was reelected in 2013. He was also elected to the International Olympic Committee in July 2012. He earned a Master's degree in applied economics at IAG, Louvain-la-Neuve and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Arnaud De Lauzières, Format Director Carrefour Group

Arnaud started his career with Danone Waters before moving to an uninterrupted career with Carrefour group. He started with Carrefour Group in controlling before becoming a regional director. He later moved to the head office to lead new strategic initiatives including the deployment of the new Planet Hypermarket concept. He followed the roll-out of the new concept across various countries in Europe and then moved to Belgium to head the Hypermarket Business Unit. One of his key achievements was the successful implementation of the new concept in Mons to reinvent Hypermarket format. Arnaud is now back in France where he's leading the format development across all countries of the group. His mission is to ensure the smooth development of new concepts across formats and to foster best practices between countries.

Olivier Delangre, CEO Amoobi

Olivier is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Amoobi. He serves on the Board of Directors.

Before founding Amoobi in 2011, he created a first company in the US and earned a PhD in Engineering both from University of Brussels and University of Lille, while being a teaching assistant at the university. Olivier also holds a Masters in Management and a degree in Electrical Engineering (majored in Electronics) from Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Olivier has been working with top Amoobi customers. He has experience on convenience, supermarket and hypermarket formats across 5+ countries and is a speaker for various retail events.

During his leisure time, Olivier enjoys travelling (New-Zealand, Canada, USA, Iceland, Western Europe, ...), helping younger entrepreneurs, as well as playing with his daughters.
